2023 Year-End Appeal

Some of our recent Long Table speakers

Dear Friends,

It has been a remarkable year for the ANS. We have celebrated numerous achievements, including the return of a stolen 1794 Large Cent to our collection; the acquisition of the Clapp notebook to the Library; the completion of the OXUS-INDUS project, a new online research tool for ancient Graeco-Bactrian and Indo-Greek coinage; a particularly successful Coinage of the Americas Conference; the relocation of the materials from the Medallic Art Company (MACO) Archives to New York, involving several trailers; awarding the first two Chairman’s Fellowships for Numismatic Research, supporting the work of emerging scholars; winning eight Numismatic Literary Guild Awards; and offering fifty more of our weekly Long Table sessionsgreatly appreciated by our members. None of this would have been possible without your support.

Now, we turn to our major goals for 2024. We work to improve our members’ experience with our online resources, increase our presence at coin shows, and make more of our collection available in museums and exhibitions throughout the country. We hope you will enjoy the forthcoming exhibitions and events at the Bernard Museum of Judaica, the Morgan Library & Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Museum of the American Indian, the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art, and all the other places our loaned materials are on display – as well as the new Long Table lectures throughout the year.

Donating to our 2023 Year-End Appeal will help achieve these goals and more: you can make your tax-deductible gift today. Your generosity is critical to our success and to serving you better.

With our sincerest thanks,
Dr. Gilles Bransbourg
Executive Director
