American Numismatic Society, 0000.999.6723.

40. Reverse of the Prince Henry medal, “Commerce Uniting the two Countries.”

47. Prince Henry medal presented to him in gold by the American Numis [sic] Society, commemorating his visit here.

The medal commemorating the visit of Prince Henry of Prussia to New York in February 1902 was the third medal that Brenner created for the American Numismatic Society. Brenner created six medals for the ANS. First was the Reverend Augustus Muhlenberg/Saint Luke’s Hospital medal in 1896 (see #s 82 and 91) followed by the Charities and Corrections medal in 1898 (see #s 36 and 37).  Besides these three, two others were in the show – Amerigo Vespucci (see #s 126 and 132) and John Paul Jones (see #106).  The only one not present was the 1908 50th anniversary medal.
