Some of the featured coins included: a Philip III silver 8 Reales, dated 1607, the first year the Mexico mint put dates on its coinage; a gilded medallion from 1814, celebrating the freedom of Ferdinand VII, as the Spanish hold over Mexico was breaking apart; and a half cut silver coin from 1880s Oaxaca with Chinese graffiti and chop marks (this object circulated in Asia, possibly Vietnam).
