Notes

  • Formerly 1001.57.4614. All four HSA specimens are very similar and seem to come from the same dies or casts. Mateu pointed out that the obverse legend of the copper contains one more line than the actual gold morabetino. He translates the final line as "justo" arguing that this identifies them as weights. Tawfiq Ibrahim has also written on them, identifying them as coin weights. Nonetheless, the weights of the coppers rarely correspond to the weight of the gold coin.
