  • Marksman's award medal suspended, from loop attached to edge, to two small five-link chains mounted to first (lowest) of 12 award bars -- one for each year from 1879 to 1890. The 1879 - 1886 have obv. crossed rifles over target on which is the date; on rev. blank (apart from indistinct grafitti). 1887-1890 have obv. SHARPSHOOTER and the date. 1879 and 1886-1890 have pins mountd on back. 1879 - 1882 are bronze; 1883 - 1890 are silver plate. The bars measure approx. 37 x 11 mm.
