The ANS Wins 5 NLG Awards in 2020
Announced via YouTube on August 18, 2020, the American Numismatic Society has won five awards from the Numismatic Literary Guild:
- Best Book on Ancient or Medieval Coins (pre-1500): White Gold: Studies in Early Electrum Coinage(Peter van Alfen, et al., eds.)
- Best Book on Tokens and Medals: Jacques Wiener’s Most Remarkable Edifices of Europe: The Man, Monuments, and Medals (by Michael Ross)
- Best Feature Article on Early American Coins: “The Authentic Fugio Restrike Dies” (by Chris McDowell and Julia Casey) (JEAN)
- Best Feature Article on Numismatic History or Personalities: “John J. Ford: A Life in Three Portraits” (by Q. David Bowers) (JEAN)
- JAMES L. MILLER MEMORIAL AWARD FOR ARTICLE OF THE YEAR: “The Authentic Fugio Restrike Dies” (by Chris McDowell and Julia Casey) (JEAN)
