Planned Giving

Bequests and other planned gifts provide a significant source of financial support for the ANS, and help build a foundation that will continue to ensure the health of the organization in the years to come. When you make a planned gift to the ANS, you join other generous donors who have had the foresight and commitment to ensure the future of the Society. The Julius Korein Legacy Circle recognizes and honors those who have helped ensure the future of the Society by including the ANS in their estate plans. Membership in the Legacy Circle is perpetual, with no minimum gift requirement.

You can make a specific gift of cash, securities, real estate, coins, or other property through your will, codicil, or trust instrument. You can also designate the Society as the beneficiary of all or part of the remainder of your estate or trust after the payment of estate-related expenses, other bequests, or following the death of a spouse or other primary beneficiaries. Another way to include the ANS in your estate plan is to name the Society as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy. In addition, all planned gifts may be designated as either unrestricted in their use, or restricted to specified purposes. While unrestricted gifts allow the Society to allocate funds to areas of greatest need, you may designate your bequest for a particular use, or specify that it be added to existing funds.

Providing for the American Numismatic Society in your will is a very effective way of exercising your commitment to the goals of the Society while at the same time realizing significant tax benefits for both you and your loved ones. A bequest or trust provision for the benefit of the Society may qualify your estate for an estate tax charitable deduction.
