Join Robert Kool of the Israel Antiquities Authority as he examines the context and significance of the Huqoq Hoard. In the summer of 2018, two late medieval pots containing 364 Venetian and Mamluk gold and silver coins, along with three pieces of jewelry, were discovered during excavations to the south of the Late Roman (late fourth to early fifth century CE) synagogue at Huqoq, Israel .This treasure, together with a similar-dated assemblage of ten Venetian silver grossi found north of the synagogue, were associated stratigraphically with the remains of a large structure identified by the excavators as the remains of a late medieval (14th -15th century) synagogue built over the Late Roman synagogue.
