The Royal Coin Cabinet in Sweden holds one of Sweden’s oldest museum collections and celebrated 450 years in 2022. At the same time, the museum is on the brink of a new era. New permanent exhibitions will open in 2024, due to a move from premises in Stockholm’s Old Town (Gamla Stan) to a new location in the same building as the Swedish History Museum, also in Stockholm. Cecilia von Heijne, Senior Curator at the Royal Coin Cabinet, will outline the history and development of the museum and what is in store for the next few couple of years.
