Hahlo-35-150, National Arts Club of New York plaquette

American Numismatic Society, 1987.147.42.

35. Souvenir plaquette of the National Arts Club of New York.

150. Decorative panel “La Pastidiosa” [sic].

Created for the National Arts Club in 1904, the design was given the confusing title “Fastidiosa.” While the word means “annoying” in Italian, Brenner likely meant to use the Latin word, Fastidiosus, meaning “fussy” or “perfectionist.” This can be found in at least two plaquette sizes as well as a larger plaque.
