18. J. Sanford Saltus, Esq. Plaquette
Brenner did a portrait plaquette of John Sanford Saltus (1853-1922) in Paris in 1900. Saltus was there to work with Brenner, Saint-Gaudens, and George F. Kunz preparing the American Numismatic Society’s exhibition of the history of American coinage for the Universal Exposition. It was a big success. The display won a gold medal for the ANS.
