149.   Bronze bust. Reduction of marble bust in Toledo Museum.

This is Brenner’s Womanhood, which was mentioned in a handful of studio interviews with the artist. The inaugural exhibition of the new Toledo Museum of Art took place January 17—February 12, 1912 and Womanhood was the only marble bust Brenner lent to that exhibition. The museum seems not to have acquired it, but it may have remained on loan there for a time. Images are of the marble bust, and the current whereabouts of the bronze bust are unknown.
