The 2021 Gala is Virtual—Save the Date
The American Numismatic Society Annual Gala will be held virtually on Thursday, January 14, 2021, and will posthumously honor benefactors Lottie and Mark Salton. The event will feature keynote speaker Jacob Goldstein and include a raffle with about 20 enticing items to be won. A limited edition pin has been commissioned to Saltus Award winner João Duarte. New Award: Collier Prize in Ancient Numismatics
The Collier Prize in Ancient Numismatics, given in memory of the late Professor James M. Collier, will be awarded biennially to the best single or multi-authored book, catalogue, or online digital work in the field of ancient numismatics (650 BCE to 300 CE). Click here to apply. Call for Papers
Submit abstracts for AIA-SCS Joint Panel “Multilingualism and Coinage in the Ancient World,” sponsored by the ANS for the 2022 Annual Meeting (San Francisco). John Jay Society Lecture
Dr. Jesse Kraft, Assistant Curator of the Americas, delivered a lecture to the John Jay Society, a chapter of the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution, on the topic “Native American Peace Medals of George Washington,” on November 22, 2020.
École française d’Athènes Lecture
Dr. Lucia Carbone, Assistant Curator of Roman Coins, delivered a paper for the École française d’Athènes on the topic “The Hidden Power: Late Cistophoric Production and the Organization of the Provincia Asia (128-89 BC)” on November 23, 2020. See more information here.
