George C. Miles (1904-1975) was a noted Islamic numismatist. He was responsible for the American Numismatic Society's Islamic and Hispanic collections from 1946 until his retirement in 1972; he also served as Chief Curator from 1954 through 1969. In his latter years (1966-72), Miles also helped administer the Society, serving as its Executive Director and Secretary.
A manuscript by George Miles that catalogs Fatimid coins. This appears to be a draft of a catalog that was never published. It is a compendium of known examples of Fatimid coins and does not contain any narrative history.
