William H. Dillistin (1885-1964) was a numismatist who wrote several books and papers on paper money and counterfeit banknotes. He was a member of the American Numismatic Society from 1942 to 1963.
Letter from Alex Chryssidis to Mr. Dillistin, dated June 25, 1952, regarding counterfeit coins, which Chryssidis describes as “Italian” sovereigns, and how to identify them. The letter appears to be a typewritten transcript of another letter as it bears the heading, “Extract from letter dated June 25, 1952 - signed ‘Alex’”.
