Marbled-covered notebook entitled “Catalogue of Indian Coins.” Twenty-five pages of handwritten coin listings of coins collected by McAlister Jamieson from 1889 to 1898. Jamieson donated over 200 coins to the ANS (1938.50). Notebook appears to be a catalogue or inventory listing describing various copper, brass, and silver coins relating to Indian dynasties dating from BC 250 to the nineteenth century. Inside front cover inscribed “Mc Alister Jamieson, 20 Shakespeare Rd., Worthing” and “Lady Percy, 31 Earle Avenue, Folkestone, Kent.” Notation on p. 25 by Inez Percy, AKA Lady Inez D’Aguilar Jamieson Percy. Also, letter dated March 11, 1938, to the ANS from Herbert Allen Seaby (1898-1979), signed “Herbert” on letterhead from B.A. Seaby, Ltd., London. Letter is in response to an earlier communication from ANS, presumably voicing interest in Seaby’s “little collection of Oriental coins.” Whether the coins mentioned in the letter are related to any of the coins described in the notebook is uncertain.
