Letter from William Shirley, governor of Massachusetts, to William Pitt, paymaster general of his majesty’s land forces, authorizing payment of £200 sterling to General Samuel Waldo for his troops in the Canadian campaign against Fort Louisbourg, 1745. It is endorsed on the verso by Waldo (April 19, 1748), Chauncey Townsend, and Thomas Law (November 7, 1750).
