Contains an annotated copy of Ashby's booklet A Dissertation on a Singular Coin of Nerva (1772; printed 1774). A letter (1774) sent to Sir John Cullum (1733-1784) and signed "R.S." suggests that it was the letter-writer who wrote the annotations. Also includes a letter from Charles Gray (ca. 1695-1782), Member of Parliament for Colchester, that includes a drawing of a coin (1770), and a letter to Gray from Ashby (1770).
