Biographical Note

H. Joseph Levine opened Presidential Coin and Antique of Clifton, Virginia, in 1971 and operated it as a retail walk-in store for thirty-four years until its closing in 2005. The company continues to do business by mail, internet, and auction and specializes in U.S. political collectibles, including tokens and medals.

Scope and Content Note

Photographs, mostly prints but including some negatives and slides, and page layouts used for the production of Presidential Coin and Antique auction catalogs from about 1989 to 1995. Includes photographs of tokens, medals, badges, ribbons, and other collectables, mostly from the United States, in the following and other categories: presidential and political, inaugural, police, transportation, nineteenth century merchant, world’s fairs and expositions, Civil War storecard, U.S. Mint, peace, life saving, agricultural, foreign, Hard Times, Bryan Money, and So-Called Dollars.
