Scope and Content Note

Contains MacKenzie’s research, reference materials, and items prepared for publication on the topic of Ottoman numismatics, including work on the book Countermarks of the Ottoman Empire (1974). There are notes, photographs of coins, articles, clippings, drawings, publication offprints, and coin lists. Most of the materials are in folders or cut and pasted into notebooks. In addition, there are clippings from a variety of Great Britain newspapers on the topic of coins generally which were cut and pasted onto cards by a clipping service (1950).
