Henry Phillips Jr. of Philadelphia was a philologist and numismatist who served as curator, secretary, and librarian of the American Philosophical Society and secretary and treasurer of the Numismatic and Antiquarian Society of Philadelphia.
One letter, dated November 10, 1863, from Henry Phillips Jr. of Philadelphia to Joel Munsell of Albany in which Phillips requests that Munsell consider publishing his work on Pennsylvania paper money, along with several other works that together would "contain all that has hitherto appeared on the subject of Colonial and Continental paper money."
