ANS Monograph Series

The ANS publishes original scholarly research in numismatics in two monograph series, differentiated by format. Book proposals for these series are evaluated by peer reviewers and our editorial board for their original contribution to numismatic scholarship. The works published in these series may pertain to coins, medals, or related objects of any period or place.

Before submitting a proposal for our monograph series, please read the guidelines for submitting book proposals. Once a proposal has been accepted and the manuscript has been received, the editor will decide on the basis of format requirements whether it is most suitable for Numismatic Notes and Monographs, for Numismatic Studies, or for publication outside of the established series.

Numismatic Notes and Monographs

The Numismatic Notes and Monographs series, established in 1920, is generally for shorter book-length works on relatively specific topics. It is published in 6" x 9" hardcover format.
