2012 ANS Gala Honorees

The American Numismatic Society is pleased to announce the honorees for the 2012 Dinner Gala. The recipient of the Trustees’ Award is Harlan J. Berk. The recipient of the inaugural Distinguished Service Award is Frederic G. Withington. Robert Hoge Lecture

ANS Curator of North American Coins and Currency,Robert Wilson Hoge, will present a lecture entitled "Early American Phantasms of C. Wyllys Betts" at the ANA World's Fair of Money on Tuesday, August 16, at 3:00 p.m. in Room #3 of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 North River Road, Rosemont, Illinois. ANS Librarian at NBS Meeting, Chicago

On Friday, August 19th at 11:30pm ANS Librarian Elizabeth Hahn will be speaking at the Numismatic Bibliomania Society General Meeting at the ANA World's Fair of Money in Chicago about the new and improved ANS Library catalog and other recent library activities.The meeting will be held in Room 7 of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 North River Road, Rosemont, Illinois.

David Alexander Lecture

On Saturday, August 20th, 2011, ANS Fellow David T. Alexander will present a lecture entitled "The Mysterious Demise of Art Medals in America" at the Chicago Coin Club Meeting during the ANA World's Fair of Money. The meeting will be held at 10am in Room #5 of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 North River Road, Rosemont, Illinois. He will be available to sign copies of the his book American Art Medals 1909-1995. A limited supply will be available for purchase at the event and at the ANS table (Booth #1380).
