Mr. Richard Abdy graduated from the University of Glasgow and now curates the later Roman and early Byzantine coins at the British Museum. 2010 Sage Society Trip: Journey to the Birth of Coinage

Sage Society members may want to save the week of September 19-26 in their diaries for 2010. In conjunction with Westminster Classic Tours the ANS is organizing a cruise around Turkey and the Greek islands. Highlights will include visits to two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World at Ephesus and the Mausoleum. Tours of sites will be complemented by a program of numismatic talks by Deputy Director Andrew Meadows. The opportunity will also be taken to taste some of the fine wines produced in the region, to accompany the excellent local cuisine. A full description of the program, together with prices, is available. Sage members will have priority booking. If space allows, trip open to the general membership.
