This part of volume 2 is open to plate 101. At the bottom of the engraving, the last lines of sonnet 177 by Petrarch (1304 – 1374) are written. Interestingly, the engraver has written what appears to be the number 144, but the lines are clearly from sonnet 177. The full sonnet is as follows:
