Elizabeth Hahn Benge

Elizabeth Hahn has professional training as an archaeologist, a numismatist, and a librarian. She has worked on various excavations both on land and underwater in Sicily, Israel, Bermuda and North America. In 2006, she attended the first Summer Program in Roman Pottery Studies at the American Academy in Rome. Her academic interests include the coinage and literature of Greek Sicily and southern Italy; maritime trade; zoological iconography; Greek and Roman ceramics; coastal landscapes; and the history of art and archaeology. Ms. Hahn is fluent in Italian and has reading proficiency in French, German, Latin and Ancient Greek. She is a certified Advanced Open Water PADI Scuba diver and outside of academia, has received a number of awards in rowing. She is an avid cyclist and also has training as a classical violinist.

She then moved to Chicago and lived happily ever after.
