Jacob Goldstein, ANS 2021 Gala Keynote Speaker, is the author of MONEY: The True Story of a Made-Up Thing and the co-host of NPR’s Planet Money. He has written about money for the New York Times Magazine, and his stories air regularly on This American Life, All Things Considered, and Morning Edition. He previously worked as a reporter at the Wall Street Journal, the Miami Herald, and the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. He is a graduate of Stanford University and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.

Dr. Ira Rezak, Life Fellow of the American Numismatic Society, is a graduate of Columbia College (1959) and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1963). Dr. Rezak is Professor Emeritus of Clinical Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he taught from 1970 to 2010, was the Secretary of the Faculty Senate and founder of the school’s History of Medicine group. He has long collected medals of medical and Jewish interest and has published widely in these fields. 

Dr. Alan Stahl is Princeton University’s Curator of Numismatics. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Pennsylvania with specialization in Archaeology and Art History. He teaches as a Lecturer in the departments of Art & Archaeology, Classics, and History and serves as the numismatist for several Princeton excavations. Prior to coming to Princeton University in 2004, he was the Curator of Medieval Coinage and of Medals at the American Numismatic Society for two decades.

Pascal Perich is a world recognized artist and photographer. He created the short film to be presented at the 2021 Gala, The ANS: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. His work has been published in a range of prominent international media, among them Vogue, Vanity Fair, the Financial Times MagazineFortuneGala,  Elle, LeMonde, El Pais, the New York TimesNewsweek, and many others, while contributing to major art publications.
